Enrolling new students in Monte Vista is a little different than enrolling at your neighborhood school.  Please call Ms. Ammerman for info on the enrollment process.  (949) 515-3383.  The N-MUSD Welcome Center website has information on address verification, initially enrolling into our district, required documents, etc.

New Principal!

Monte Vista High School's staff and students would like to welcome our new principal, Marc Trocchio!

Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Marc Trocchio as the new principal of Back Bay/Monte Vista High School. Mr. Trocchio has nearly 20 years of experience in education. He is known for his ability to connect with students, staff and parents to develop trust that contributes to a positive and cohesive school environment.


“I pride myself on being student focused, responsive and open minded when discussing placement of students,” said Marc Trocchio. “I am excited to collaborate with colleagues on the alternative education needs of our students,” he said.


Mr. Trocchio most recently served as assistant principal of Marina High School and Fountain Valley High School for the Huntington Beach Union High School District. He also has served as assistant principal of San Dieguito Academy and La Costa Canyon High School for the San Dieguito Union High School District. Mr. Trocchio began his career as a guidance counselor and teacher.


“Mr. Trocchio’s background in counseling and administrative leadership, make him an ideal leader for our alternative education program,” said Chief Academic Officer Mr. Russell Lee-Sung.


Some of Mr. Trocchio’s administrative experiences include successfully implementing restorative practices, overseeing student safety and discipline, developing staff collaboration time and Professional Learning Communities. He has collaborated among various district departments and school sites to create comprehensive counseling and wellness programs, develop master schedules, lead WASC teams and manage special education cases.  


Mr. Trocchio is happily married to his wife Kelli, and they have three kids; Jack - 12, Ben - 10, and Mary Jean - 5.

The School Accountability Report Card is updated yearly in February.  This is a legal requirement by the State of California. The SARC provided a detailed report regarding class size, demographics, test scores, climate, and more.  The reports are published in the current year for the previous year.
